Winterton Huts

There is a raw, elemental beauty to the Norfolk coastline when a storm rolls across the North Sea. I stood out in the exposed sand dunes at Winterton-on-Sea, bracing my camera against the intensifying wind as these massive, heavy clouds began to stack up directly over the old wooden fishing huts. By completely stripping out the colour, I wanted to focus the viewer's eye entirely on the intense contrast between the bright, wind-whipped marram grass in the foreground and the brooding weight of the sky. This frame is a study in texture, shadow, and the dramatic, shifting mood of our coastal heritage.
