Volcanic Tides

This frame was all about chasing the fading afterglow of a dramatic Canary Islands sunset. As the sun slipped completely below the horizon, the sky turned into a burning gradient of deep reds and purples. I used an extended long exposure to flatten the incoming tide against the sharp, jagged fields of cooled volcanic lava, transforming the restless ocean into a dark, mirror-like floor that perfectly captures the intense colour of the sky above.
