The River Hunter

Waiting for a kingfisher requires patience and intense concentration. I sat in a hide at Sculthorpe Moore, watching the water ripple until this incredible bird finally claimed its perch right in front of my lens. The morning sun hit its feathers perfectly, creating an unbelievable flash of electric blue and warm copper against the soft green reeds. This image freezes that split second of perfect, breathless anticipation.
