here is a primitive, almost otherworldly energy at  Playa del Janubio. Standing on its jet-black volcanic shores, you are constantly reminded of the unforgiving power that shaped this island. As the sun began to dip toward the Atlantic, the sky opened up into a canvas of vibrant pastels, casting a warm glow that contrasted sharply against the stark, dark landscape. I was captivated by the way the surging tide surged around the ancient lava rocks, momentarily softening the rugged edges of the shoreline.

To preserve the dynamic feeling of the rushing water without losing the stillness of the horizon, I used a long exposure paired with an ND filter. This technique allowed me to smooth the Atlantic's white foam into an ethereal mist-like veil, emphasizing the geometric strength of the volcanic formations. By keeping the shutter open, I was able to record the passage of time across the beach, turning a chaotic shoreline into a moment of structured calm.

To ensure the intense tonal range, from the deep blacks of the sand to the delicate sky gradientss, each piece is produced in a professional digital lab using Fuji Professional archival paper. This high-end medium captures the exact depth and clarity of the Canary Islands' unique light, ensuring the image remains as impactful as the day it was taken.
