Inside the Light

Climbing the winding stairs of Happisburgh Lighthouse leads to an incredible maze of historic engineering. Standing directly beneath the massive lantern room, I looked straight up into the ceiling framework. The way the circular ironwork and glass panels layered together created a beautiful, completely abstract geometric pattern. I wanted to move away from the traditional coastal exterior to celebrate the incredible, hidden craftsmanship that has protected mariners for over two centuries.
