Gothic Symmetries
The sheer presence of Ely Cathedral rising above the flat Cambridgeshire fens is deeply impressive. For this piece, I wanted to move away from the grand landscape views to study the intricate, repetitive rhythms of the medieval stone masonry. By using a high-contrast monochrome format, the image highlights the sharp lines of the soaring Gothic arches and the interplay of light and shadow, celebrating the incredible symmetry of the building.
