Coastal Glide

Looking down from the high cliffs, the movement of the seabirds against the ocean becomes completely hypnotic. I wanted to capture the effortless weightlessness of flight, tracking this kittiwake as it caught the updrafts off the North Sea. The soft, clean light from the overcast sky illuminated the beautiful geometry of its outstretched wings, isolating a single, pure moment of calm suspension above the deep water below.
